The Irishman
Watched this movie on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. It covers the American mafia in the late 50s and early 60s. I will not say too much about the movie because some of you might like to watch it. It is well worth a look.
The part I found interesting is when the discussion turned to the Kennedy's. Joe Kennedy, father of John and Robert, asked the mafia bosses for help in getting John elected as US president with the promise that if he was successful the mafia would get the casinos, hotels and prawn boats back in Cuba. They had been kicked out of Cuba by Castro.
They accepted the deal and were joined by Jimmy Hoffa, leader of the powerful Teamsters union. President John Kennedy was duly elected and the mafia waited for payback time. It did not go to plan because John made Robert Attorney General and he began a crackdown on organised crime.
The mafia believed they had been double crossed and later both John and Robert were assassinated in mysterious ways that is still argued over today.

Re: The Irishman
John, great movie saw it on NETFLIX last year.
As you say the Mafia more than not had a lot to do with the demise of both Kennedys.
I am still of the opinion that the Oswald, alleged killer of JFK, was removed in such an easy manner. Would have considered him to be so vital that all care would have been taken to ensure he was kept safe for a trial.
Some one did not want him to speak, he was the Bunny for some one else.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
