You no say that
Announced here today in Oz some 400 words that will no longer be allowed for use in Scrabble.
Words that are in all dictionaries and in daily use.
It is of course the PC lot doing this in an attempt to create an equal society based on social engineering.
The best one is the Spade, it must now be known as a long handles digging tool.
Now tell that to the guy playing cards or that guy Brian calls heyyou, just how far will this go.
Drongo, Spick, Scotty, Dick, color, white, Pagan, are just a few of the forbidden words.
How many do you think will qualify for removal?

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: You no say that
It was ruled in a UK Court yesterday that older people using the phrase 'coloured people' will not be prosecuted for racism, but there was a sting in the tail in the judgement. The judge ruled that the older generation were not capable of moving with the times and the words had been correct in the past.

Re: You no say that
ivan in all honesty i am not sure what the hell to call a dark coloured person without causing offence.....growing up in shields in our street and at schoool colour never was mentioned....working in a mill near bradford .....both white and the mainly pakistans had very little verbal contact .....as already stated in shields they were darkies if anything but very very rarely called that.....at sea with somalis down below never had a problem .......the knife crime in london is really out of hand ....extremely long sentences should be used .....as for the goings on in belfast .....actually throwing a molotov at someone is akin to firing a bullet .....what sentence are these mainly kids getting when caught......apart from religion which has killed millions ......drugs are now overtaking them ....a whole new look needs to be taken at the laws of our land but while sentenses are only a figure and no one serves long term then the crap is back on the streets again in a very short time .....but the do gooders who mainly appear to have done nowt ......carry on there turn the other cheek and forgiveness so the wheel continues to favour the crap in the village town city country and the world.....just my view ....R683532

Cappy I used to say to distinguish people those with the good suntan. But would imagine that today would be construed as inflammatory. JS

Re: You no say that
We were taught in school that the word N***** was for people from the Niger region of West Africa.
Indeed we had singing lesso0ns, with that word in it,
A Sea Shanty, `Rolling Down To Rio` had the line, "There`s a big Buck N***** with his Sea boots on"
Two lads in our class who`s family came from the region always sang it with gusto.
I cannot see how it is Offensive to describe someones origins
Liverpool, .,..Scouse.
Welsh.... Taffy
Irish... Paddy
USA .... Yank
South Africa....Yarpy
AND SO ON AD FIN
I have an excellent book. N***** of the Narcissus. The hero is the N*****.
A stage show ran for years in the London Theatre.,. Ten Little N***** Boys,
So what is the Problem????
