Getting hot again
The last thread I wrote on the heat melted away, maybe this one will do better.
Since November 9th last we have not had a day here in Melbourne with the temperature below 20.
Over the last week the temp has slowly risen again to very high levels.
We have air conditioning but I prefer natural breezes and winds to that.
Wednesday it got to 29 centigrade with an overnight of 22.
Thursday it reached 42 and the overnight was only as low as 25.
Even with air sleeping in such conditions is not easy.
We have an El Fresco area, well covered and with some very comfortable loungers complete with very good mattress.
So with a can of insect spray I cleared the area, two cans of beer in case of nocturnal thirst and off to be in there I went.Slept very well with just the sky and stars for company.
Laying there I drifted back to a time in 64, Indian ocean on the NZSC 'Paproa' with very poor air con and limited fresh water.
So hot at night that for about ten days most of the crew took the mattress from their bunk and slept on deck. Nothing better than seeing the stars above and listening to the crash of waves on the bow.
Friday it got to 42 again with another hot night ahead. Back to the outside for me again tonight.

Re: Getting hot again
I remember sleeping on deck on the South American run, beauty at sea was no mosquitos. When ever we travel, the mosquitos love my wife, she gets eaten alive, quite useful really, wait till she is asleep, pull the sheet off of her shoulder, good night kip for me !!!, only joking, kt

Re: Getting hot again
Last summer here in the SW France, we had a cracker. Glorious spring from end of March through to summer end September hottest day we had was 41 degs C, average is usually around 25 /27 degs. Autumn was very pleasant as well until end of November. So far this winter it has been very mild but wet, we have had a few frosts but I have yet to see ice on the pool. But I bet there will still be a sting in the tail and we get a cold snap.

Re: Getting hot again
Hi cappy. +8c and raining.
No snow down here at sea level. But over 100 cm on the ski hill.
Mind you that is at 5300 feet.
Amazing really. It is only a 30 minute drive from my house to the parking lot.
That is only at 3800 feet.
Hope you are keeping well.
Den.

Re: Getting hot again
Friend of mine who is from Canada has relis coming next week.
They are currently in a temp of about minus 25, coming to well over 30.
Shock to the system no doubt.
