Worried
I am worried that recent arguments and disagreements between members of this great site are going to swing us into the world of the politically correct brigade.
We are of the generation who speak our mind , in doing so we may upset others , but they can come back with counter arguments to have good debates. Many here have strong opinions and like to voice them which I think should be welcomed provided it does not lead to personal abuse. I am often in a minority of one when the subject turns to politics but this should be expected , we are free to disagree. More often than not the posts go off in 101 different directions and end with humour.
So a plea to the moderators , who have a difficult job , do not go too far in censoring debates as this would change the face of this site and we will lose far more than we will gain.

Re: Worried
It's nothing to do with the PC Brigade Louis, it's whether a person can have reasonable debate.
You and I have our Political differences and it has not caused a problem between us, why? because we are adults and behave like adults and although we may not agree we respect each other.
There is an individual with whom you cannot have reasonable debate and that causes problems along with his general attitude.

Re: Worried
my political views differ to most , because I believe in an ideal that would never work in the real world , ever , but I would hope to argue my point without offending anyone , and leave in peace and harmony agreeing to differ

#4..Rob you sound like you belong to the same org. As self. Following on from that although I don’t have too high a regard for politicians in general, I would obey the rules of whatever country I resided in. Which in a lot of cases is again the trouble in the world of today. Who want to change the world to their Own beliefs. Cheers JS.

Re: Worried
Might be heavy JP but it's well put . To change my opinion on either politics or religion would certainly take more than a thread on a website albeit a very nice website . I think a lot of our choices on politics and religion or what we have grown up with and what we have learnt basically from the Cradle

Re: Worried
JP... some smart ass is going to question that statement as one cancels the other. Should say Thank Goodness. Thanking God you are acknowledging his existence and then saying you don’t believe in him. However you are among friends and we know what you mean. Don’t get involved with door to door gospellors, I keep the fly door screen closed between us when they come knocking. Cheers JWS
