Bastille Day Tragedy
Reports are sketchy, But something don,t sound good, Up to 60 people killed after reports of a truck crashing into a crowd of people and witnesses speaking of gunman seen in the area, This is a day France commemorates the over throwing of Tyrone, And the birth of democracy. Very sad news ideed.
France has a national holiday every year on 14 July to celebrate a mob breaking into a 18th century Parisian prison.
Akin to the United State's 4th of July, the date marks the beginning of republican democracy and the end of tyrannical rule.

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
A terrible thing to happen on such a day for France!
When one sees these kind of things happening one wonders what on Earth is becoming of this World!
May the Families of all involved find peace, and know that this will certainly not be forgotten by so many around the World!
On a better note the Huge parades in Paris were held and what a Pomp and Ceremony it was as usual!
So many now take part in it ,I recall many Years ago watching it and even then it was great!

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
The Australian government often puts out warnings about traveling to foreign countries, and if have to do so advises not to mix in large groups. This obviously plays right into the terrorists hands as think they have the infidels on the run. Time people took the blinkers off and realized they are in the fight of their lives and also forgot the Marquis of Queensbury rules. The way the borders have been left open to all and sundry there is every likelihood for such to be an ongoing danger for many years to come if allowed to do so. It is a war and let no one have any doubts about that. Every one knows it was coming and will carry on doing so, until someone with the guts to appear to be heartless grasps the bull by the horns. Talking about that just recently some in South Australia are up in arms about dog racing ( greyhounds) has no one ever thought about how the poor bulls of spain are teased and killed. And everyone shouts Ole!! JWS

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Terrible tragedy, France is obviously flavor of the month with terrorists. WW is now in full swing but alas this time we do not see the enemy until the disasterous deed is done. Until the world, particularly those who manufacture arms, come to realize it will go on as long as they continue to supply arms to these people it will never end.
But France is one of the five most prolific manufacturers of armament along with China, Russia, USA and UK.
How long before they come to a place near you?

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Not one mos k will condemn that atrocity. They never do,
We are a peaceful religion they always say.
This is why we need Russia on our side because the WW3 is coming soon , them and the Christian countries,
But my fear is,, Many schools here are sending school kids to France for School Holidays, Teachers do not seem to have much sense
My own Granddaughters school is doing that,
Brian,

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
I hope when they find out where this vehicle came from, that's it's from another European country, Spain , Portugal etc, then maybe they will begin to see daylight that this freedom of travel is not a good idea, and reinstate borders. They are blind to see that a couple of guys with Kalashnikovs in the boot of a car, can be anywhere in Europe within a day without a single check. Kt

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
this is not an act of terrorism no faction could stoop that low to kill 10 children and 74 members of the public.. no this is plain murder and anyone and everyone involved in it should be executed on the spot? is this the price we pay for letting without vetting people to come and go as they please into any of the eu countries and its their law not ours so sorry for France and its people today and will be tomorrow too. jp
