    Default Global economies

Most of you would by now know my feelings regarding Britex, though I do believe some of you may be getting in my head as I am changing my view on a few of the smaller details.

Today in the news the 'doom and gloom' merchants, lead by anylists and brokers of the IMF claim that Britex will destroy the global economy.

How, they do not say, but say global growth will drop by up to one percent?????

But consider this, it will take two or more years before the split is completed. during that time EU and UK will still trade with each other and other nations.

Both entities need to continue doing so to exist and basically live.

By the time it is ended both will have reached a point where each can live without the other. New markets will be established over time and each will move forward.

I have concluded that the biggest threat to world economies and the future of EU and UK is not Britex but rather those who suddenly find out they are not the big boys they once thought they were. Suddenly the trough has shrunk.

the world wants to stop making great Britain pulling away from the eu club and get the world moving? if we were that skint why are we giving billions away to so called poor countries we should over the next couple of years spend that on our own country,i think we have all seen the cost of taking in immigrants on mass our country is full and until we make a stand we will have trouble all over our country its happening all over Europe people coming in thinking rape and beating by migrants is the normal but the press will not publish what is going on in Europe and until we change any stupid human rights by the pc brigade things will get only worse .. jp

We certainly do John .You are such a pessimist ! Where's your British sense of standing up for change and challenge. The weight of fear and anxiety of all you sitting- on -the- fence Remainers coming to terms with Brexit will ease as the months and next few years go by. For instance I just read that the IMF,who were so negative pre- Brexit have admitted they were wrong.Their track record on forecasting future trends has been appalling, and although still pessimistic, they've revised the fall in Britain's future growth upwards,-slightly, admittedly ,grudgingly.... as positive.
US $ v. £ only slightly down on Brexit Day ,and FTSE 250 just about back at the 17,000 level.

He stopped reading that when they took Jane out of the cartoon section. Know I did. The old Daily Express was such a big cumbersome paper, only good for outside dunnies. JWS

John in Oz... Think the average man in the street is not against trade. Trade is and should be world wide in any case, and not restricted to trading partners holding the purse strings of the world in general. It is the bare faced effrontery over the past few years where they are slowly but surely taken over the sovereignty of others replacing the laws as they see fit, and are in fact having the same principles and performing the same acts as Russia has been accused of in the past. It is a totally undemocratic way of running countrys and at last people have woken up to the fact as to how they have been duped. I think the so called ruling body which is not even the Brussels parliament but these hidden controllers must have seen that old film the 13 just men the sooner the whole shifty lot are displaced the better and the world gets back to some semblance of normal behaviour. Don't be put off by the talk of billions that is just there to try and scare you, they talk about billions in any case as we talk about hundreds. It is only paper in any case the wealth of a country is in its people. JWS

Gulliver, not pessimism just concern that it may if not handled corrcetly go pear shaped.

I see today your PM has said, and rightly so, Britex will not be started this year. To many points to sort out first, then go for what you can.
Herr M has a meeting today and according to the translator said thta UK and Germany are the best of buddies???? WW1 and 2 came to mind then.

Gulliver I am sure in time things will begin to shape the way so many wish for, but it will not happen over night.

As to information put out by IMF, that changes almost daily, mainly I think to suit themselves, and so many are dependent on what they say.

As I said trade will continue no matter what anyone may say, and just hope UK gets it's fair share after all this is over.

    No-one expects it to John.
Latest news on the markets (21st July,2016), reports there appears to be no indications that the post-Brexit economy has suffered to any significant degree,if at all.

Britain will always be respected now that we have taken the leap from our masters and will rise again to a world leader not follower? there is a down turn in every stock market on the planet and its not because we jumped the bad ship eu? jp

Most stock markets ahve recovered from the shock of Britex. Ourexpected growth for the next year has been upgraded as one of the best world economies at present time.

Gulliver, there is one point that has not been raised to any great extent in the Britex talks we have had. It is this point that worries me and should worry some of you, it is the reason for some of my 'pessimism' you speak of.

UK was taken into Europe back in the 70's by E. Heath to what was then the EEC. Since then it has morphed into the current day monster.
UK was taken in by POLITICIANS and now you expect POLITICIANS to take you out, remember it is the same party in power now as in the 1970's.
That is of concern as you well know politicians do not very often do what is good for the nation, more a case of what is good for them.

IO want to see the very best outcome for UK, still have family and friends there, and they are split between stay and leave.

Saw your PM today with the Froggy one, was not too impressed with his comments about UK and EU.

UK will have to deal with POLITICIANS from 26 other nations.

Now is the time to cry, 'For England Elizabeth and St George' or fill up the wall with your English dead.

Happy John, just got time to comment on two of your points !

"THE UK will have to deal with POLITICIANS from 26 other nations"

No John, the UK has just TWO nations to contend with; Germany and France; and only Germany will prove to be the most stubborn stain. Don't be frightened by a fragmented, uncohesive '(dis)united states of Europe' that the others purport to be.

"I have concluded that the biggest threat to world economies and the future of EU and UK is not Britex but rather those who suddenly find out they are not the big boys they once thought they were. Suddenly the trough has shrunk".

I think I agree with you there !
