I was a member of a now well defunct website which was attacked and hacked like this one was, it took ages to restore the site and during the restoration a lot of stuff was lost, including forum posts and some great ship pictures. The site was restored as best it could be by the webmaster over a number of months but many of the members never returned and the webmaster sadly became ill, probably as a result of the worry and upset the hacking and restoration caused and the site disappeared, must be some nine to ten years ago now. For the life of me I cannot remember its full name but it was the web masters christian name plus the name of his best loved ship, I will probably wake up in the middle of the night remembering it, then forget by morning. Anyway the point of all that probably useless information is that perhaps some stuff was lost when this site got hacked and has not been deleted as such which could explain members perceptions of missing threads etc. I will get my toddy and go to bed now leaving you all in peace. :smiley-sleep026:
Was that not the "All at Sea site" ?? Chris
Cheers
If not just the same name, continues on FB ?

Tis the Irish who made sure there would be no discrimination when it came to this delecacy.
They have both black and white pudding.
Of course they could have called them IC1 and IC2 puddings
Still cant remember the site name but the guy was English and it was a hobby rather than a business. I would think the membership never exceeded a hundred or so. I think really all he did was open his private collection of ship pics and sea stories to the web. All in all my membership lasted less than a year from joining, to the site vanishing. It suffered a lot from people copying or taking his pictures and then of course the hacking. I felt very sorry for him, put me right off trying something like that. That is why I admire Brian so much and all that he does and has to put up with. It is a thankless task which could well do without trolls and trouble makers.
My post at #23 Chris ?? Just a guess though ,but that lasted a lot longer I am sure!
Cheers
No it was not that site Doc - it had the first name of the webmaster and the name of his favourite ship - if I can find it I will put it up.
