Braid, This is the very reason you have to admire Prince Charles for writing these letters, Lets not forget the same guy not only let his his own two sons enter in the firing line, But look at his own military record the guy has walked the walk, wore the tea shirt, wrote and read the book, Been there done it, And more importantly spoke and met very high ranking military officers and listened to there concerns, Knowing they can only advise and not intervene in M.O.D. Decisions he took it upon himself to bring there well founded concerns to Ministers themselves, He could not have done it if he was king or head of state, I have nothing but admiration for the way he conducted himself. I posted on this forum many years ago without knowing of these letters that Prince Charles would have his say one way or another. Respect to him Terry. :clapping2:

The worlds richest man, Bill Gates of Microsoft, is dedicated to giving away all of his wealth before he dies. His money is being used now to combat malaria in Africa and research to combat infectious disease's which kill thousands every year.
Station means absolutely nothing, the days of peasants pulling at their forelocks is thankfully gone forever. Hoarding vast sums of money in banks that could not be spent in five lifetimes is morally indefensible. Camels, eye of a needle and rich men getting into heaven come to mind.
Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
I do not think his wealth has anything to do with his Concern for the British Troops being sent into an Illegal war by Bliar, a Labour PM, with inferior equipment, My two nephews had to do three tours each of Seven months in Iraq and Afghanistan caused by Bliar and his Labour cohorts, using this inferior equipment which caused many to lose their lives or were crippled for life.
So why is Bliar and the rest of the left wingers trying to change the story for their own political agenda,
That Bastard caused a lot of grief, widows and children without fathers.
Charles stood up for the British Troops ,
How many left wingers stood up for Troops that Bliar sent to their deaths??? NONE.
Many Showbiz celebs and footballers have more money than Charles and not one of them want to give it away to help the Wounded and Widows caused by the Bliar Labour Government.
The Queen has dropped out of the list of the 300 richest people in Britain for the first time, it emerged yesterday.
Alan Sugar, a Labour supporter and donor is now worth ONE BILLION POUNDS.
Just look at the Rich List that was Published a couple of weeks ago. see who is on it and at what level.
These were Private letters and should have remained private, and Labour is now trying make Political gain from it, showing how bent and corrupt they really are. They are disgusting.

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
Brian I wish you would make up your mind about people doing well for themselves. On one hand you come on here blowing your trumpet about two mates of yours who became millionaires, one kicked off selling a few nails and is now the biggest supplier in the country, the other guy started off selling a bit of scrap wood and now a large timber supplier. They started from nothing and built an empire for themselves, good luck to them I say.Alan Sugar started selling a few odds and ends and now a billionaire according to you,why the downer on him, could it be that he is a Labour man.??

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
Hi Jim
I have nothing against anyone on the RICH LIST,
only someone was criticizing a royal for having a lot of money and he doesn't need to touch his forelock anymore.
The Thread was about the Private letters that Charles sent to Bliar, regarding the poor quality of military equipment that was costing the lives of our Troops in Iraq.
Louis brought in a case of wealth and privilege,
So I was merely showing that others have More wealth than the Royals who wanted to look after the Troops who were being exploited by Bliar. Please read it again.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
As far as I am aware the Guardian were most disappointed with the content of the letters after such a long legal battle, nothing much in them as far as I could see apart from the Lynx helicopter letter.

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
Lou, re. #22,
That's not Bill Gates who is giving away all his money before he dies, it's Warren Buffet, C.E.O. of Berkshire Hathaway, He's second richest American. Bill Gates is donating tons of money for the eradication of malaria, plus other causes. He has, unlike Warren Buffet, set-up trusts for his heirs.

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
Typical, Of this ship, A thread goes from Letters from a Prince to government ministers to philanthropy, :grouphug: Lads there are a lot of good wealthy people out there, I watched an interview with BBC Hard talk host Stephen Sacker a few months ago, I admire his rags to riches story more than anyone else I know thought to be Britain's biggest tax payer. Terry.

Re: Prince Charles Private Letters
We all know Blair started a war on the basis of a lie.
He sent ill equipped British troops to fight in it.
Blair more or less told Prince Charles to sod off when the prince lettered him to say he was wrong to send ill equipped troops to fight in Iraq.
Blair introduced the Human Rights bill to this country, lets hope Cameron gets rid of it.
Blair was the culprit who allowed John Downie the Hyde Park bomber who slaughtered four soldiers and seven horses of the Household Cavalry to walk free.
Blair saying and doing as he pleases in this country must be ended.
Blair should be arrested and taken to the International Criminal Court in the Hague to face charges of War Crimes as soon as possible.
After being found guilty there's only one place for this Devil's diciple to go and that is "HELL".
FOURO.
