    Default MN Slang?

Any one ever heard of the expression Dingle-hoof?
I use the term when referring to some body who is a bit of an ejjet, not the brightest bulb in the chandelier etc.My daughter is driving me nuts wanting to know its origin. She even googled it.No luck
Did I get it while in the Merch or did I make it up?
    Den.

    Cool DINGLE

The Wifes family come from Dingle in South West
Ireland, and they have never heard this expression
    before.

Could it be a derivation of iron hoof, you know half the crew of P&O and UCL.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

No do not know either but sounds a good one Den and if no one owns up to it would be claiming patent rights to it myself. Know that Ding Bat had a similar meaning around Kingston Surry. Could you not change the last one to Mutt then it would have the same initial's as yourself LOL.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

John, when my son did his first trip I was aboard his ship on sailing day,I brought a couple of menus home as a memento of his first trip.On the menu for Tea that night was Dingleese Grill I'd never heard of it.On my sons return I asked him what the Dingleese Grill was, what it was was just a plain mixed grill the ships cook coming from the Dingle called it Dingleese Grill maybe it was the Chefs Special!!

Thank you all for the 'none' help. ha ha.
Now I have no idea where it came from.
Think the Dingle part was more in referance to the brain [or lack there of] than a place. I'm just guessing that.
Daughter says she has heard it from me all her life. Poor kid.

I think John in Oz is probably the closest if not precise.
