People on pensions.Had I not been here my wife (widow) would not have qualified she would've had to draw the money out of the bank and pay for it just like we had to do with the last one.It is only the £1.69p that made me qualify.
Regards.

i dont think anyone was having a knock at you Jim, as a matter of fact with the free bus pass, i dont need it Yet, but if you take it away from some poor sods , they will never be able to go anywhere. i live one bus stop from the shops, minimum bus fare here on the IOW is £2.50, each way, yep thats right £2.50 each way. Some poor old sod on bare money , how can they afford a fiver just to get shopping. I am still able to drive, but who knows in the future. KT
Nobody is getting at you Jim, certainly not me, you were entitled to your free boiler, we are discussing the system in general on a broader base. Doubt anyone on this site is a scrounger and having been at sea we have done our bit and are entitled to what morsels come our way. We are I think discussing professional scroungers who make a career out of it, we are also not talking about those who are unfortunate enough to be on benefits through no fault of their own.
Relax Jim, we are on your side, we'll be round for a cup of hot water later!!
Ivan you can have a nice hot bath if you wish. When I was working I used to always have a couple of pints on my was home from work.A lot of the lads I sat with were in the building game,on the fiddle if you like. That never realy bothered me it was not my business what they were upto, but what did used to get up my nose was the fact if I was ill and needed a prescription I had to pay for it dispite the fact I was paying for it by way of deduction from my salary, the boys on the fiddle probably earning more than me sign the back of the script and get it free. Also the Pole Tax none of them paid that because they were "out of work".

jim that pole tax looks very painfull I think I would settle for the poll tax
It is possible to get free solar panels with some companies.
They carryout a survey, if suitable you get the panels installed.
They claim all the subsidies, the price paid by the Government for the excess power generated etc.
You get your electricity for free.
Biggest problem is that the agreement is over 25 years, so could prove difficult to sell your house as you don't own the panels.
vic
most will transfer ownership , but like any agreement you need to read the s,all print , My concern is the whole scheme relies on a subsidy that I think is crazy , designed to comply with Kyoto and its European interpreters . When you ask , what if the subsidy sts . No one has given me a good answer yet
Rob, I believe the original agreement was 43.00p per kwh., which has now been cut to 21.00p per kwh generated.
Cap Brian. go to age uk. they will work out what you are entitled to. this is a free service. you should be entitled to something. that pension credit is worked out from what you get coming in each week. if you are not sure you can always fill in form HC1 from the social, regardless of whether you claim a pension or not. If all else fails get a cork from your champagne bottle, set light to it, rub it round your face stick a towel on your head and see if that works. you can speak some Arabic.
