All properties here in Oz have water meters, but the biggest part of the bill is for sewage and water delivery. In an account of $270 for 4 months the water component is only $45.

No wonder you are all shouting about costs. My gas for the year $700 which is about 450 GBP, but we do not have such a long winter. As for council rates I paid $1103 for the year and our land sizes are up to 4 times the size of Uk properties.
No doubt in my mind, though I was not there for it, the Poll tax was the fairest system ever introdcued

I like to think i am always on the lookout for a bargain and Froggy or not mate none of the others can match it, And cap the fixed rate until 2015. The way things are turning out with the weather in the u.k. with what has to be climate change. The only way your heating bills will go is up. I think i got a good deal Regards mate Terry.;)

Hi Terry . my Gas and Electric are Capped with EDF so feel safe for a while.
