    Default Slightly different note!

Just on a slightly different note to this Keith T, here in NSW have just heard that they are now Cutting the Baby Bonus of 5 Grand per Child Born,so this will affect many many People! Going down to 3 Grand now!
But on the other hand it may curb a lot of young Girls trying to fall pregnant just so as they can claim that 5 Grand! But again to get 3 Grand will most probably still not didcourage these Young Girls ????
This may in time help the Population growth to ease a bit here!
Not that i am against people having Kids, its just that there are far too many that have been doing the wrong thing having Kids and then not being able to look after them the correct way!
    Oh well just my opinion!
Sorry if i hijacked this post mate!
    Cheers

Keith not to sure if it will affect anyone on the pension at the moment because I have not heard if it is going to back dated so taking it away from spouses of ex pats. One thing about the UK pension out here in Oz is that if you come under the income test then you loose fifty cents in the dollar for every dollar that you get in pension from the UK. What one governement gives the other takes away LOL. If it is retrospective then those that have been on it for years here in Oz will not loose that much as the amount is frozen from the day you started to get it.

Agree with Vern as well. The way the womens lib is going out here it will not be long before they are demanding a surrogate mother to give birth for them so that they do not miss out anything other than carrying the baby in their guts. It has gone way overboard and when one considers that years ago a family would consist of many kids and all on one wage packet but today greed has reared its ugly head. Always have maintained that when women wanted the same as men that the workforce was doubled and the amount of jobs decreased due to technology and such it is no wonder we are in the shite now. Now we have to also contend with imports wanting to get their snouts into the welfare trough. Better get of the soap box now. Can anyone else see us slipping back to the old days of upstairs downstairs as we already have beggers on the street corners now.

    Default New Legislation.

Keith, the best way to explain this is.A Bangaladshi man lived in this country for over 20 years,he was married but his wife never joined him here.He died and his widow in Bangaladesh received a widows pension,I don't know how many this was multiplied by but apparently it ran into millions of £££'s per annum.Did he have a wife in Bangaladesh????

This is only the start of what this coalition has in store not just for ex pats spouse's, But more wave of cuts are on there way for all U.K.Residents and ex pats in October i have had occasion to visit the C.A.B. Here in the UK on a number of occasions over the past few months. Here is the bitter pill mate. When you visit the advice and have a beef you need to have looked into the first thing the advice worker will do is go into there big red book and look up your rights ,,,,,But before they advise you they then go through the days memos they have received on the day to see if the government have changed the rules on the day ? Which they are on a daily basis things are changing under this coalition and goal posts are being moved in there favour on a daily basis all in the name of austerity. We have recently had headline news here in the UK where a 53yr old woman with a very rare disability topped her self because the benefit of benefit reforms which she left in a suicide note to her 2 grown up children had docked her benefits £100 a month leaving her in a hopeless situation unable to manage her finances. It is estimated there are another 8 million UK residents working or not have had benefits cut in a similar way. UKIP Have put the skids under Cameron and Osbourn through recent local elections and thank the lord the cracks are beginning to appear amongst Tory ministers themselves which although will take whoever takes over years to regain humanity and compassion amongst local government policies its a move in the right direction. But hey mate take nothing for granted await October when the second wave of cuts are implemented. Regards buddy Terry.

I don not think any ex pat here will be effected by this legislation as we all paid into the system, unlike som eof those who currently get it in afraudulent manner.
Vernon, the new 'baby bonus' is to be means tested and will be set at maximium of $2000. It will be paid as part of family benifits part A.

I personally would not mind them cutting my entitlements of so that those in need could keep theirs like you said about the old women that jumped ship when they cut out a hundred quid a month of her. To make sure that everyone knows that getting the UK pension (I am speaking about myself before anyone else starts throwing bricks) is not a voluntary deal here. When you reach pension age and apply for the pension one of the things they look into is if you are entitled to the UK pension. If so then they do not care if you take up that offer or not but will take fifty percent of you anyway. There are a lot out here that are getting just a couple of pound a week after transfer costs, exchange rate flutuations and bank fees beside the 50% reduction of Australian pension. On top of this what ever pension you are entitled to from the UK is locked in at that rate until you kark it. So really it is not that bigger deal getting it out here even though we are compelled to have it assessed here as income. But if I was to move to a rag head country then I would be entitled to any increases that where going plus probably not assessed as getting it on any other pension. So yes we bend over and smear the vasoline on because we get it from both governements. Believe me what your lot miss our lot pick up when it comes to screwing anyone. Having said all this still know that the needy would not get a brass farthing of whatever I lost as it would have to go into the political trough.
