Another one bites the dust, ! now Blockbuster Video, HMV, Comet, the Sports Shops, a few other big Clothing Stores, one Oil Refinery, Honda Cars cutting back, who is next, ? just shows how hard the working man is being pushed, our exalted Leaders want 33 % pay rise. want to reduce our meager incomes and benefits, time for change. need people from the real World, not Fakes.

The main problem mate is the emerging Asian economies, they can produce so much cheaper than the west and will soon take overe everything.

Is technology a good thing????We seen what technology did to car manufacturing with the robots and I suppose you could say it played a part in the demise of the MN.Todays casualties,Jessops camera shop,people now use mobile phones to take photo's.Blockbuster video rentals DVD's now down loaded from computer.HMV records dvd's etc all available on internet.We hear it mentioned on here about Kindle I suppose the likes of W.H. Smith will be next!!!.Food,furniture,clothes and all manner of other things are now being ordered on line leading to more shop closures.

i have had a computer for years, but i will not download music or anything else especially kindles. i like my books too much. how can you feel an orange or other fruit on line? what a pain it must be to order a computer or music system on line that has a problem! you then have to get it exchanged. i also will not buy from PC world. i was told that if a brand new product was faulty, their workshop would "repair it" not give you another new one.
the internet has a lot to answer for.

Alf, PC World are useless, only bought there once, everything to build a Desktop PC, my Son builds them, got home , many parts i paid for they forgot to pack, was 20 miles each way to get there, went back next day to collect them, but no apology, could not care less attitude.

My wife has penchant for buying from catalogues and now has resorted to "on line " crap seen on TV. When we had the pub in Sussex we both shopped at NEXT. Therefore when we received a catalogue from Next ON LINE in the mail box, "she who cannot be wrong" ordered two pairs of shoes and a hand (tote) bag.
I rang the toll free number and ordered. A very pleasant young man somewhere in the UK took my order and a week later low and behold the shoes looking cheap and nasty and a plastic handbag appeared on the doorstep. A total of $95, about 60 quid down the gurgler. Never again.

I used to have the same problem Neil but since Vhon's been sick I have had to take over the purse strings completely. All her cards and clubs cancelled. Problems started when she started double ordering because she can't remember anything she does from one minute to the next. We've just spent an hour showering her and washing her hair and she has already asked when she is going to have a shower
