I dont know the full story on this but it is something like this.Four women are taking their case to theCourt Of Human Rights today stating that they are being discriminated against by not being allowed to wear a cross/crucifix to their place of work.I just heard some lawyer saying something to the effect, you can choose and practice any religeon that you wish as long as this is not displayed in the workplace, that sounds fair enough. But hold it there I dont know if any of you have attended any hostpitals lately and seen ****** female doctors with the head gear on.I have accompanied my wife for hostpital appointments and my wife has been seen by these ****** women doctors and I thought at the time how unhygienic is that.Lets say, these doctors are allowed to wear these clothes because of their religeon,I can see these women loosing the case of wearing the cross/crucifix today so once again this is another erosion of our rights not to offend the ****** faith whilst we have to grin and bear it of what they wear.

Jim, it all started with the introduction of compulsory crash helmets for motorbikes, when the Government of the day caved in to Sikh demands that they be exempted because of their religious turban requirement. What the Govt should have said was hard luck, guess you'd better get yourself a car or pushbike then, but they didn't look far enough ahead (apart from Enoch Powell). The precedent was thus set and others joined the bandwagon, had the sikhs been refused the exemption they would have soon acquiesed and got exemptions from their religious leaders or a helmet would have been designed.

i personally think religion is stupid and has caused most of the wars in the world, but i would not try to stop peoples beliefs. i do however hate idiots who try to force me to believe in thier religion. if someone wishes to wear a cross, ok, but not if it is waving on the end of a chain whilst they are doing an operation. it can be discretely hidden. with turbans head scarves etc. i think they should be banned from hospitals as they can carry disease etc. from ward to ward.

Brian, we all now its wrong, allways its one sided, in favour of them, we have to bend over backwards to there demands, ours are ignored, only our Goverment to blame, and they refuse to listen, in Kings College Hospital London, there Dental Dept was like being in Karachi, so many with ****** Headgear. that was the Dental Workers.

While my wife underwent chemotherapy for a lymphoma cancer 4 yrs ago you couldn't take anything into the cancer ward especially flowers because of the same reason you don't know what is lurking amongst them Terry.

If they are banning religious articles in works, then all the Check Out Staff in ASDA , Sainsburiys would be out of a job.
They all wear the scarves etc.
In the same case today a man who had trained and worked as a Lawyer and now in Councelling had been sacked , And he lost his case because he was a Christian and refused to Councell two homosexuals on their sex life.
I wouldnt Councell them if I was a heathen.
But I have noticed That ******s can quote the Koran and say they do this and that because the Koran tells them to and they get away with it. But a Christian says in the Bible they should not do something then the Authorities say they have to. There is a lot of Discrimination against Christians in favour of ******s in this country.

I think the couple of queers who wanted sex counselling were taking the piz the same as the two who booked into the couples B&B knowing that when they arrived at the B&B they would be refused as the owners were Christian and did'nt want that kind of thing going on in their home. They do these things purposely to be KB'd and then take action against innocent people.Another case today was against a Registrar who would't officiate at same sex marriages, the Registrar lost his/her job.I think in this case the Registrar had been in the job before the law was changed for same sex marriage.I must admit I can understand the nurse loosing her case, a cross/crucifix could get in the way whilst she was doing her job so I suppose it could go down as Elf and safety.

Had similar problems here in Oz. But there was sucha public outcry that they backed off. Wearing of any form of religeous identity is legal. we have them all Turbans, Jewish hats, etc. There was an attenpt to have the cross removed from a Catholic school by themigrant parents of a young girl. They were told in so uncertain terms where to go.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
