nurses suicide
So sad a life has been lost because two so called Dj, s thought it would be fun to make a hoax call, anything for there own amusement and hopefully fame, they do not care who they hurt or use to fulfill there warped ideas of fun, there evil plan to get information from this innocent nurse caused her so much grief she took her own life, they should be banned from broadcasting forever.

I phoned them yesterday:
I phoned them yesterday: Enquiry was for us and legitimate: I got no where, they said if they could help, would ring back. Guess I know now they had enough occurring. Sad at the loss of all life and of this lady / nurse.

Inevitable
Surely this was inevitable. Humour today far too often seems about humiliation and ridicule. What these two did is no different from regular prank calls made from mainstream radio shows every day for the amusement of listeners. I seem to recall two high profile British darlings on UK television having their wrists slapped as they were deemed to have gone too far but the clamour of the British public soon had them back on our screens earning millions a year and still wondering what they were supposed to have done wrong. It might even be argued that this pair down under have succeeded where others have failed!
These aren't pranks, these are peoples lives and by tuning in to any of these radio stations, TV shows, or paying to see these so-called "comedians" live we all share some of the responsibility for this unfortunate womans death.

I thought we had learned the lesson here when Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross made a stupid prank call to veteran actor Andrew Sachs , I flatly refuse to watch anything with either of those two in now . We have lost "People Power " with many of these things , when responsible people vote with their feet , by not listening to or watching these idiotic pranks , then their masters will take note , and decency will prevail .
That nurse Jacintha Saldanha , was not disciplined or even chastised , she was supported by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and her Employer and Colleagues , but the shame of being made a fool of in public was too much for her to bear , I see that 2Day FM presenters Mel Greig and Michael Christian have not managed to make a comment as yet ( 06:00 08/12/2012 GMT ) . I hope they could not sleep last night and for a lot more nights , and I hope that the people in the broadcasting area of 2Day FM , find another channel , with the advertisers changing their choices too .
We have seen many things from the Lord Leveson inquiry here , and the good old News of the World went in the bin permanently , but did it , we now have the Sun on Sunday selling 2,000,000 copies a week 700,000 less than the News of the World , when the people who buy it hand over their cash , doo they think of the upset that was caused to the McCann family , the parents of Milly Dowler , I doubt it , they buy the thing because the crossword , the sports reporting , it is easy reading .
I have said it before here , whilst the majority stand silent , the minority will do as they want ,
I feel for Jacintha's Husband and Children , her family , and the shame that she felt , that was strong enough to cause her demise , I hope there are enough Radio Stations in Sydney that Australia can retune too , enough to flatten the profits of 2DayFM , and then maybe a lesson will have been learned .
Will it happen , well truthfully , I doubt it

Am afraid i have no time for any TV or Radio Presenters, all are smug, ignorant, sarcastic ,uneducated, all try to look big and important at the expense of other people, all have vastly over rated sense of there importance, all grossly overpaid, talk a never ending load of crap, and think they are great, YUK, !

These programmes love to make a fool of people, big joke. I hope they are haunted for the rest of their lives. The same for the tabloids here in uk, love to dish the dirt. The only reason they print those papers that size, is they fit perfectly in the bottom of a parrots cage KT

suicide
while wholly agreeing with the other comments posted- such a sad waste of life for a person employed in the caring profession, and anger at the people who began the events which led this nurse to take her own life- it has been suggested by several groups including the Samaritans that there may have been other, underlying problems which may have tipped her over the edge, although being employed in such a high profile establishment i'm sure thorough background checks would have been employed. Regarding the Oz media, the perpertrators have been suspended and the stations advertising has suffered, i reckon when the dust has settled it'll be 'everyone back in their own beds' situation.
there's no such thing as bad publicity.

chris {see no wrong} it shows some people are that far up their own a...e they are the ones that talk for the sake of making a noise? my daughter is an intensive care nurse and yes they do live on the edge trying to keep kids alive but they would never bear any malice to any colour creed and lets hope thees two need a nurse in some time of their pathetic lives and hang their heads in shame as they will {i hope}carry this all the days of their lives with them.jp
