    Default New Topic!

Well i had suggested a Topic on this subject, and i see that Brian has kindly accepted it and put it on!
I thought it may be usefull in the future for some here that may have things they would like to Exchange, Swap or Sell!
This of course would be by mutual arrangements between the Parties concerned and any Purchases etc would i hope be dealt with in a manner befitting to all here!
Mutual trust and agreements! Sort of a Seamans Bond if we can call it that!

Hope that this may take off in the near future,i will be watching this space!
    Cheers and Happy Dealings!

Also i hope that this will be kept to a non profit dealers to dealers transactions!

    Thanks everyone!!

    Default Recommended Books Topic!!

    Hi All,
If you go to Recommended Book Topic you will see there that there is a new Book which i have found at a stall at a Market here in Sydney!
I am posting this because the Book is not available in any Shops!
If anyone is at all intereseted (its a damn good read) i would be happy to get a Copy for you for the cost of the Book plus of course a bit of poatage costs!
It is selling here for $25 Aussie Dollars! Not much at all seeing as this Guy has to do all his own Publishing etc! Dont know the cost on Postage but can always find out!
I certainly will NOT be making any profit at all on any of this (Seamans Honour and Word) !!
Dont know exactly what the situation is as far as Money Transfer goes,so anyone who is interested should first please find out the best way to send any Monies here to me for this Book!
    Thank you for reading this!
Please do see the Book Cover and Back Cover at the site mentioned above or click here!
    Cheers

    Hi Vernon,
Guess a personal cheque made out to you would work. Or is there a better way? Just have to be sure the rate of exchange is correct. Little tricky as it changes daily [hourly]. Also you would need to advise on shipping charges.
I would be interested in purchasing the book, but sounds like a lot of work for you mate.

    Default Monies!!

    Hi Den and Dave,
Yes we will have to see what else comes up as regards the Money factor, but i supose a Cheque may be OK only thing is (and i am not implying anything nasty here) that there may be those that Bounce!! Ouch!
The Western Union i have heard of,and that sounds OK,but there is also (and i hadnt mentioned it) a Bank Draft, which would also carry some Bank Fees!
Anyway we will see what happens!
As for the Postage rates that i will also have to go into, and will take this Book with me next time i am down to the Post Office!
Will ask about costs to the UK and Canada!
    Thanks for the replies!
    Cheers

I often send money to the UK and I have found the best way is to go and get a cheque made out in the currency of the recipient (In Australian dollars) this can be done at the bank. That way there is no surprises with exchange rates. Tried the electronic transfer and all that and with the exchange rate changing all the time I was never able to send the right amount. Also that will eradicate Vernon having to play catch with the grandkids with the ones that bounce. Just putting my two penny's worth in
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Les is right, bank drafts are the best way to go but sending an overseas one from Oz will cost you about $25. If you know the persons bank details you can do a transfer atthe rate of exchange at that moment. Or you can do the Jo Queensland way. money in a large brown paper bag.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
