    Default Gortex Jacket

Hello folks I have been trying to find a website I came across about 2 weeks ago which sold Merchant Navy Jackets, maybe not gortex but defiantly waterproof, which also had boards(velcro or button) on the shoulders for epaulettes.
If anyone can help me with this that would be great, it was a Danish or Netherlands site, but I thought someone on here might have bought things like this previously and therefore might know.

    Many thanks!

Have a look at Keltic Clothing a big UK workwear company. Not specifically Merchant Navy but nobody would know the difference. Shipping companies buy from them as well as security etc. Good gear at a reasonable price.

Had a look at the site, seems to be some good stuff there, but what a sad reflection on our time that ambulance personnel need this:

"We also have a range of stock paramedic and ambulance uniforms, and we also supply ambulance stab vests and paramedic body armour."

A year or so ago a doorman at a night club in Southampton bought a stab vest for his personal protection. He was charged with the criminal offence of impersonating a Police Officer, I'm not sure what the punishment was but he was found guilty. Sorry state of affairs when you cannot protect yourself, I would have thought the fellow was justified in using a stab vest.

Question Gortex is waterproof not stab proof

Hi Shipmates,Hi Doc Vernon, If you want a stab proof vest or bullet proof the cheapest place to buy on is a army surplus sale many adverts on line all parts of the country in the U.K. go for the kavlar ones bit heavy to wear , but it could save your life{ if you local pub is a bit rowdy on the weekend}? I only drink down the club {members only
} with my old shipmates and good friends with some very nice ladys, so have no probelms with{ crazy nutters} plenty in some pubs around the U.K.
