    Default Going to get Breezy

News here that Brisbane is about to get hit by a powerful Cyclone in a few days. News says it is the first Cyclone to hit the area in nearly 50 years. Good luck all.

Yes have heard a wisper that this is happening soon. Bloody wisper there has been nothing else on the news except this. What ever happened to the good old days when we got informed about events like this but still got told what else was happening around the place. Even idiots still out there surfing and others wanting to get into the surf as well. Fed up with being constantly told how frighteded I am supposed to be all the fecking time lately on the news
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

    Hi Les
Watched those idiots up in Queensland down by the surf, all dressed up warm with long coats on suddenly get caught in a huge wave one was swept off his feet and was lucky he wasn't dragged out to sea. The wave swamped the car park, plenty of saltwater got into the cars

Said to be the worst since one back in 2020 according to the Queensland premier.

The ABC have spent the last four days mid day news bulletin with all and sundry in all manner of emergency services telling the population what will happen.

#4 As they say up north

There’s "nowt so queer as folk", need to get PC with that and drop the Queer and change it to Stupid.

Several people every year around the UK coast people get swept out to sea while watching the big waves crashing in. How many times people walk their dogs along a Promenade only for poch to get washed away and then the owner jumps in to recue the dog.

Well it arrived, but no where as bad as predicted.

It hit one island and immediately dropped to a tropical storm, often happens with cyclones when they cross land.
But strong winds and rain up to 200 mm, that is about 8 inches to you in UK.
    So car no recorded deaths.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Well John if you are ever caught with your pants down in the southern hemisphere and in the possible path of a TRS the safest position to try and get into is is the right hand upper quadrant ,you can always remember this as is the same place that one used to inject an injection of penicillin into the right buttock if you had been a naughty boy, the last ship I was on the penicillin had been replaced by streptomycin, you can now pull your pants up again , job done. #7 This is all genuine medical info. Imparted to me doing the shipmasters medical course in Liverpool in I think 1972 by one of three sister tutors from a well known hospital and the weeks course being held in the MN Hotel.
Another particle of personal and private information at the time was on Childbirth true honest and to the point when she said I can tell you what to do and what not to do ,but if you are anything like my father who is another shipmaster my personal view would be to tie your patients legs together and make for the nearest port.
She must have learned about cyclones from her father. JS

I see that passengers on a royal Caribbean and a carnival cruise liners had an extra couple of days on board due to said cyclone.

Quite bad in parts, but all in all a big Fizzler and not near as bad as predicted and posed by the BOM. Many Australians now fuming over the Cry Wolf publishing of the Cyclone!
But if it was not reported as such, and it did eventuate, then there would have been hell to pay!
    Cant win can one !
    Cheers

Just thank goodness it did fizzle out, and not Deaths (as far as i know )
    Cheers

Going to get Breezy (Need a Bigger Boat) LOL Think only Aussies will know this one !
