Same with alot of disasters, how lucky was I . I could have been on that lucky or what.
No disrespect but the Derbyshire the number of people I have met over the years and you mention the Derbyshire. They seem to have done the previous trip on her or they were in Japan waiting to join her. She must have had a compliement of about a 100 waiting to join or just left.
Titan sub investigators 'taking precautions' in case bodies found on sea floor. Surely there would be nothing left of these people? if the preesure was great enough to crush the sub I would have thought they would have been all but vaporised and endly up fish food the size of plankton?
#62 I was on her sister ship three times, just thought I would add myself to the list.
The story we are getting here in the States is the owner of the sub had trouble finding the last 2 spots on that dive and had knocked his price down to $150, 000. There were a number of no takers as tales were being spread about possible weakening of the fiberglass from multiple dives, many thought just one dive was enough strain on fiberglass and the Titan had made fifty plus descents to that depth, some to the Titanic the rest in pressure chambers.

I think the tinplate boats I made as a kid were a better bet than that so called submersible, they may as well made it from laminated cardboard, the word Cowboys comes to mind.

#59 Cappy ref. Thin steel .I was on that ship for 2.5 years and never saw a drop of paint on the steel main deck.
The maintainance for such was a bucket of sludge oil out of the E.R. Bilges and a mop , such was mopped onto the deck to lift the scale. This was done with long handled scrapers . The finishing touches were a coat of boiled oil. Knew every rivet head on that ship . Any drill holes around popped ones only needed recamouflaging . JS
There were and are many solutions that one learned on older vessels.If when ships were mostly riveted and cracks appeared round the rivet head , the quickest way to stop that crack continuing was to drill a hole at the end of the crack . Don’t think it would work on the human body though .JS
Ivan, just repeating what a lot are saying here about the time it took to find the truth about time of the implosion.
