Disney Dream cruise
Just returned from a short 5 night cruise on the Disney Dream down to La Caruna and Vigo in Spain.
The purpose of this cruise was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We sailed from Southampton and weather was good, next day was a sea day sailing through the bay of biscay , no rough seas but the sun didn't come out until after lunch. We had booked a mixology session for the afternoon where we made 4 different cocktails which were quite strong.
Next La Caruna, weather was warm but overcast all day found it hard to fill in the day here so back onboard for lunch and a leisurely afternoon. Overnight to Vigo weather here was very hot, sunshine all day. We strolled through town, Vigo is quite hilly and we were pleasantly surprised to discover some escalators going up some streets.
Next day back through the bay of biscay again, still no rough weather but again the sun not showing itself. Today was our actual anniversary day and we had a wine tasting seminar booked in the afternoon which consisted of 6 different wines, we then went to the pub, there was a brain teaser quiz on while we were there and we somehow managed to win scoring 18 out of 20. At dinner that night our serving team made a fuss of us and even brought out a small cake for us. We had had our server before on a transatlantic cruise and we asked for him for this cruise as we knew he was onboard.
Next morning back in Southampton just time for breakfast before leaving and travelling to Heathrow to get our flight back to Newcastle.
Altogether a good cruise even though it was a full ship as the kids were still on holiday and there were a lot of them, but we knew that when we booked. It is a Disney
ship after all, we kept to the adult areas and avoided them.
This was our 7th Disney cruise and we have another booked for next September when it will be a less busy time. Hoping to do a Panama Canal one in 2026 on our favourite ship the Disney Magic.
Regards Michael

Re: Disney Dream cruise
Yes in society today even ten years can be something special..
But Micheal, those of our generations are made of sterner stuff and can take it all in our stride.
Gald you enjoyed the cruise, though Disney is not one we would choose.
But 56 and still going!!~!
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Disney Dream cruise
We went to Disney World & Universal for the first time this year with children. To understand us with the husband we didn't feel how time passed. we all had a great time together)
It was a gift for our children and the price turned out quite well. With all this trip we turned to a company :https://www.westgateresorts.com/vacation-packages/. They organized everything superbly
