MS Europa 2
Earlier this week I went on a 1 night cruise on the brand new MS Europa 2, just a few days after she left the ship builder. Great luxury ship, and if anyone wants to know more they can read my review of the ship by following the link. At the end of the review there are links to the photos and video I took onboard. I'll expect a few brickbats for this one. Having perused some of Ian's contributions it seems to me that he is advertising the services of his Company. I always thought there was a no advertising policy within the forums/threads on this site.......................just asking!

Apologies to all, as I wasn't aware of the rule. I have been a member of the site for many years, so am certainly not trying to cause any problems.
I will just reply to Tony's question, and then leave it there.
"While I can't be sure of exact figures, the reception, waiting and bar staff, seemed to be Europeans from germany, Austria etc. The cabin staff appeared to be a cross section of Europeans and Filipinos"

Ian

i honestly think this was a helpful post, not advertising, explain what the difference is to someone relating a last cruise they took and naming the ship, is that advertising ? we get many interesting posts on cruise ship experiences, the good bad and ugly, this post just showed a new ships features, a lot of time and trouble was put into it, if we have to think twice about giving information i will end my membership now.

As a regular Cruiser I found it interesting, The ship is a nice size, not too many people
But I will not be sailing on it.
It is German, with German and Austrian Crew, German language broadcasts get right up my tail pipe. I cannot stand them
Most cruise ships have Philipino crews, who I find are always cheerful and helpful,
in Holland America they have Javanese crews who are very similar to the Philipinoes.
On Cunards QE last year they had Europeans , Germans and others, who were the worst I have ever come across, Pig Ignorant, filthy habits with the food, arrogant, unhelpful, so will not sail on QE again.
Thanks for showing Ian, it is one to steer clear of.
Brian.

hi Brian, i do not like Cruise Ships. my Brother does, a matter of choice, but nice to read the different reports, have found your posts relating the different Companies service interesting, this post is no more advertising than when you compare different named Companies. my opinion only. Regards, Tony W.

First of the brickbats then, well Tony it's very very rare I have to disagree with you, but you obviously haven't looked at 'Go Cruise with Ian' link correctly, if that is not advertising and marketing then I don't know what is. As you said a lot of time and trouble was put into it, but that's marketing as anyone who has run their own company knows. I have no objection to members relating their personal experiences and leaving it at that 'within' the forum, as with Kong, Oz John and others, but a link that connects you to a business site is against our rules, but as always I stand to be corrected on that one. We have asked people to leave the site because we found they were advertising their services. If I remember correctly you were also amongst those objecting on occasion.
I feel sure that there are many on here who are involved with one business or another who would like to proffer their wares, but do not. Any advertising that a person feels is applicable to the site should contact Brian to advertise in the side panel of the site, as the revenue thus earned will help defray the costs connected with the running of the site, as it seems a lot of users are still reluctant to become 'Friends of the site' whilst enjoying it's camaraderie and help offered by other members.
Well that's enough of me sticking my nose in

Hi Ivan , just looked at it again, it is an Advertisement. for a Travel Company, so I agree, the space should be Paid for as an Advert. Where else can you get Free advertising?.
Come on Ian. Pay Up.!
Brian.
