Sir David Frost
It was announced today that well know interviewer and TV host Sir David Frost had passed away from a heart attack whilst on a Cunard Cruise.
He was a great interviewer and oersonality and to pass at such at young age, 74, is sad as he still had much to offer.
But it brought to mind the demise of my father in 1979, one week after completing a round the world cruise on QE2.
It would now appear that cruising with Cunard can seriously damage yor health.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Never liked him in the early days of his career, especially in the show "That was the week that was " as appeared to have a very sarcastic approach to people on the show. However he seemed to mellow in later years and turned out a good interviewer. As he is younger than me I am not saying too much on that topic. Cheers John Sabourn.

I believe if you snuff it, Cunard charge your Kin freight rates for transportaion of the body. or if buried at sea they charge the Kin with the cost of the canvas and weights.
.
In Cunard years ago they did this as your contract as a paying passenger had been terminated. So a new contract is made.
We always got a bottle of Rum between four of us watch keepers for sewing them up. so not too bad .
We had to place the bodies in the cool romm with the meat and veggies.
In the new ships they now have a Morgue with freezers. A little more hygenic than having them mixed with the food.
Cheers
Brian.

Just checked on the sattelite link. the QE sailed on Saturday evening 5pm from Southampton bound for Lisbon and the Med. so he would have been dead within a few hours of joining the ship. In Lisbon tomorrow so freightage not too much. He will probably be sent home from there, VNC.

Mr Frost was a Guest Speaker on the cruise, Guest Speakers have a free cruise, just give a couple of one hour lectures during the trip and you get the best of everything. Unfortunately he died on the first night out so did not enjoy the benefits of the freebie.
The only consolation is, he didnt pay for it so he has lost nothing. [ ? ]
I did the Pacific cruise on the QE last year, not very impressed by the new ship.
