Random Request - can I borrow a merchant navy cap please
Hi,
I'm having a memorial service for my dad, and was wondering if anyone could lend me a merchant service cap for the service this Saturday (to display). Dad had got his masters ticket, but I don't think he ever had his own command. He did have the cap badge for many years, but that has gone awol.
I think he started out at White Star just after WII, but I know he also worked for Eagle Oil & Shipping in 1948 on the m/v San Adolfo, trading between Maracaibo and Curacacao(?), as a cousin sent me a copy of the letter declining leave of absence for his sister's wedding that year.
A bit of a cheeky request (mine that is!) I know, and v short notice so have no expectations.
