I am trying to find out about the ss virgiian of the allan line shipping company which sailed in 1904 my grandfather was a fireman not the best of jobs He died on board ship in 1907 if anyone can help me in my search i would be most gratefull.thanks

Visited Pier 21 in Halifax,Nova Scotia this past Sept to get some info on the "Drottningholm" [ex Virginian ] being the ship that my wife[ as a 6 month old ] & her Mom [as a war bride] came to Canada on in 1946.
There you can get info on passenger lists from the early years up to the mid 60s also I believe crew lists for about 20$ Canadian.
We came away with more info than expected.
Photo shows some of the ships that brought immigrants to Canada.
