Hello All. Just joined this Forum. By way of an Introduction, - the other day, I was listing all the ships i have sailed on in various capacities ranging from apprentice with BP Tankers on the Curlew-Bombardier-Prudence-Workman-Engineer-Lantern-Fulmar-Poplar in 1963- then 3rd mate Cavalier- Corporal-Robin, then other companies to master in 1974, Supply boats and drillships offshore, and ashore in Canada and the UK, and beyond, but always Shipping related work. Returned to seafaring 1995. Presently still afloat working offshore from time to time as a freelance marine warranty surveyor. I wonder if im one of a few of the old men of the sea left afloat. I often have trouble remembering my name these days, never mind the names of people i have sailed with. There may be one or two of you out there who who can jolt my memory.

Hi John I did the Aden-gulf-aden may-dec '66 on British Prestige ended up in the Baltic on new years eve "bugger"

enjoyed them all with maybe the exception Fort Stevens she being a T2 was a hot box and they seem to delight in making sure we spent most of our time in the Persian Gulf.

Hi. Just joined the forum today and came upon your 2011 post. I was a deck apprenice on the Corporal in 1968. We had a little road trip in Dar Es Salaam that overran due to car problems and made you overdue for your watch. Do you remember Colin? I didn't fulfil my career in the Merchant Navy. I became a police officer in my home area and had a fairly successful career retiring as a Chief Superintendent. It's good to reminisce. Geoff Lee
