Hi All,
Just joined.
I sailed on the British Centaur, Avon, Scientist (twice, once as GP and once as PO) Esk(twice) Pioneer (hated it) Spey as PO, Security as PO, Forties Kiwi (2 years) and BP Warrior as AB. Was nicknamed Snowy and in certain areas am still known as Snowy,
Moved on to pastures new ashore first as a stamping press operator then 19 years as a rotoary kiln burner in a local quarry before moving into the company training department. Made redundant in June now a freelance health and safety trainer.
I read with interest the article from Dave McGee's son as I had the pleasure of sailing wiith him on his first BP tanker after he left Shell. I was saddened to read of his passing in the MNA magazine.
Hi Alan.
I also sailed on the British Pioneer, way back in 1952,was
this the same ship as you,or were you on the later one.
This was my first trip to sea and sailed from Swansea.
