Anyone ever sail with this man?
jack white.jpg
This was in my local rag today.
He served for 18 years with BP prior to 1962. He learnt to play the guitar and fell in love with the music of Tahiti.
He then transferred some of the folk songs of Tahiti he had learned onto tape and sent this tape off to the, at the time, well known folk artists Nina and Fredrick, but never heard anything back from them.
I have no idea of his rank r ships sailed on, only that he was born in Baring Street in Shields.
Sorry cannot post the link a its not up on the Gazette website next but thought it may be of interest to any who may have sailed with him and Brian with his love of all things Polynesian.
