Del I take it that you also are ex deck crew. If you managed to snag number one cabin (I think) it was the first one from the mess room. Well you would have taken over Terry's old cabin and it probably was still in the single berth format as he converted it as soon as he got on board. Bet he never left any of his stuff there either. Curtains and lamps. Was it the same mate and bosun as the mate's name was Johns but the bosuns name escapes me. Johns was known as DR Johns but we found him real good but that was probably because the two of them seemed to be up to quite a bit of scull duggery while we where on it. Do you remember noticing that most of the fore paint work seemed to be quite thin and the red lead was showing through it. Well that was because we had to dilute it down as they had not bargained on the ship getting fully painted by us. My only regret is that I did not stay with her as I am sure that I would not have got out of the MN if I had stayed with her. Was one of the greatest times that I had without landing in trouble. Would be interested to find out from you if the atmospere had stayed with the ship as I suspect it does and not just the crew of that time.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Les, Yes I had a great time on her. I think the bosuns name was Lofty, I Sailed with him but can't be sure which ship. When we finished a big job he used to make you drink a tot of rum. It could have been in 10/02/1967 - 25/06/1967, just taken my EDH ticket. She was a good Ship.

well it looks like you where either on her staight after Terry and myself or you where on her two trips before us. As you said earlier that you signed on 19/12/68 and then say you where on her from 10/2/67 to 06/67 so if that was the case then we where two trips after you. Have not heard of anyone that had a bad trip on her and when signing on after a look around you would have thought that she was going to be a real work house but have been on worse ones that the A/S.
