There was talk during my early era at sea as of Blue Star trying to buy the Insignia on every Newcastle Brown Ale Bottle which of course was a Blue Star and had copywrite properties. Whether just sailor talk or more to it never followed up JS

I was on the Southland Star when she first arrived in London ( I think) from Hamburg and I was there for a couple of years as second cook and then Chief Cook. she was a good job and we were a while on the booze-run to the west coast of the states. Never drew a sober breath. Ron Scott was the Bosun I believe.
