Re: Maple Leaf
#30 Sounds a bit like "into the woods my girl" No No " I'll tell the vicar", " I am the vicar". Those same two 40 year olds today would be heavenly manna, I used to think my mother in law was an old (w-b)itch and she must of only been in her fourties. Today I would gladly go into the fray singing, My eyes are dim I cannot see, I have not brought my specs with me. There again who knows you only get one shot at it. Cheers JWS

Re: Maple Leaf
One shot brings to mind another side of the story. Some of the 'Cougars' of the day were very generous ladies and many a lad found out a few days later that she had given him a present.

Re: Maple Leaf
#32. Well John that's what you get when you don't live a good Christian life like me. JWS

Re: Maple Leaf
Well were back, went so quick.
just to give you an update ,as mentioned in my original post ( her sister is not in the best of health ) we were very pleasantly surprised to find that she isn't any where near as bad as thought , not that she was making it up, we had been listening to the family ,and they thought she was worse, they don't actually see each other very often because of the distances involved , but they took us out in the car most days we were there and she was fine ,Bren and I think it is down to a lack of confidence , just thought certain of you would be interested .
Canada ! a wonderful place ,people. had three days in Toronto , we were there thirteen years ago what a difference, especially on the waterfront with its long tree lined prom with bars , restaurants , and high rise condos . fab when looking at it from a boat on river at night .
Incidentally the Hotel we stayed at in Toronto was the Strathcona reasonably priced , very clean helpful friendly staff recommend it and its five mins from the C N tower ,JOE .

Re: Maple Leaf
Joe
I did 6 months on the Lord Strathcona but that was a manky crude oil tanker, still both your hotel and my ship were named after the same guy, a Scottish Lord from way back if I recall correctly, one of the founders of CPR.

Re: Maple Leaf
Hi Joe,
you were also within walking distance of the Toronto "Blue Jays" baseball stadium, I will keep that hotel in mind
next time I go to watch the "Jays" and "NY Yankees", (my favourite team).
Thanks,
cheers,
John B.

#36. John you actually watch Baseball?
Oh right.
Forgot, you don't have a good hockey team. LOL.
-
Re: Maple Leaf
#37, Dennis, I don't watch hockey, but I assume you're referring to the "Maple Leafs",
better not tell my better half that, she watches hockey and she is a fan of the "Leafs" and no sense of humour.
LOL.
Cheers.

John re. #36
You've got great taste, I too am a Yankee's fan, a bit awkward me living in South Carolina, still there ain't no Rebels team.

Re: Maple Leaf
#36, Rodney
At least you're in the U.S., I live in Canada, that's awkward too, but the Jays didn't exist when I came here.
