##remember going up thr frazer river in 57.....seeing these massive fish leaping out the water ...andon asking the bosun seppy kincaid from shields what they were said to me .....if your granny makes you a sandwich on a sunday afternoon what is in it .....well in our family it was always salmon ......correct he said ...a nice tin of salmon .....this was one of my education lessons learned at sea.......i have mentioned this to den before and the little at that time village which i am sure is bigger now that was a walk through the woods to ...and watch out for bears ......the place was called chermainus .......hope i spelled that right .....and it was a very beautiful place ......we took timber to oz and as the sap cameout the logs on deck it was like being in a forest ......happy days ....and good fishing den cappyQuote:

Memories stayed with me.
That's partly why I ended up here.
Chermanis is just two hours drive south of me.
Hasn't changed much at all.

Brilliant picture Dennis ,the wildest thing I get in my garden is a Sparrowhawk that chooses my garden to eat its prey leaving a pile of feathers for me to clean up , amazing to see, not as good as your bear though .JOE .

When I lived in Prince Rupert BC, the woman next door lost her cat to one.
Just swooped down and took it out of her yard.
On the Island, we have the biggest population of cougars in Canada.
Farm near me lost a pony to one.
