    Hi Doc,

Sorry I was looking on my phone and the attachments/links didn't automatically open and I didn't notice them. I am on my laptop now and they opened immediately. Thank you for what you have done.

    Hello again Jayne
Well i have some across this in the War Office Records, which would include Royal Navy Personel.
Now although the actual Month of Birth shown is May and not June , there could well have been an Error made, or possibly that Wiliam just for some reason gave a wrong Month of Birth. But going by all other facts this indeed looks like it could well be William? (Mind you that June Month Shown on the Pic i posted with is details of Birth, is just the Quater in which People were Born)
The only way of course is to go ahead and apply for Copy, which when received will show the truth!
It may be worth the cost?
Hopefully it is him! IN FACT I AM ALMOST POSITIVE !

    Name: W H Lawlor . Service number: 14659203 . Date of birth: 13 May 1909 . | The National Archives

PS : If you do apply and get the Records would be great to see them on here. But thats of course up to you
    Thanks

Oh my gosh, that’s him! His birthday was May not June - 13th May 1909! So does that mean he was in the Royal Navy? I am trying to confirm if the photo of the man in the uniform is him? Thank you so so much for your help. My mum is going to be 81 this year and never knew her father so this is going to mean a lot to her as well as me. I will definitely order his records.

I am so happy as now I know that photograph is of my grandfather and it’s the only one we have. Thank you so so much for your help. I assume that this means he was in the Royal Navy?

#14 It’s quiet easy to get a mix up wth the months Jayne if asked for my own d.ob. Is easy as comes off the tongue as the first month of the year. when asked for the wife’s birthday I have to do it with my fingers as is August the eighth month ,and to miscount if in a hurry can make a mistake, even more so if one has any fingers missing. Regards JS .

Yes of course! Thank you. I think when Doc searched originally, he was just the quarter he was born in. I hadn’t said that I know his date of birth and it is 13th May 1909 so that is definitely him. I have ordered a copy of the records. I just have to wait now.
