Anthony James Wade
I have been asked by a friend of my wifes to find out about her Dad.
Anthony James Wade.
Discharge Book Num
R 282860
Date of Birth 2/5/1924
Place of birth Liverpool
She has given me this info as well Seamans Identity certificate
Num BS 30716
She has given me the following but they are difficult to read
Looks like 1st entry is
R N Training Establishment
M.M.S GORDON
He was there from 26/1 1943 - 28/4/1943
Looks like he passed out rating is given as Senior
There are several more vessels he sailed on
but to me they are very hard to read.
There are a couple of entries were he had signed on as Senior OS
The ship was the H&W built Debrett Num 166294. he signed on in Birkenhead 8/3/1944 , there is no signing off date
entry reads Voyage not complete , also says ,Medical certificate processed?
Now there is another one which is confusing
Entry is for Empress of Scotland date of signing on at Liverpool 29/3/1944
Again the entry states Voyage not complete.
That vessel had several names before becoming the Empress of Scotland but she was scrapped in Blyth in 1930?
Was there a later Empress of Scotland?
His next entry is for a ship
Monksville signed on as AB in Liverpool 15/9/1944and signed off 20/10/1944 Liverpool
Also states Special operation for the Liberation of Europe.
He seemed to have several voyages with Voyage not completed
Eastern Prince signed on as AB on the 26/6/1945 again voyage not completed.
He did a 2 trips on the Queen Elizabeth signing on as Quarter Master
He signed on in Liverpool 11/9/1945 and signed off in Southampton 25/1/1946
second trip again as Quarter Mastersigned on Southampton 12/2/1946 and signed of at Southampton 11/8/1946.
The last entry I have is again for the Monksville signed on 21/8/1946 at Liverpool and signed off 1/11/1946 at Birkenhead.
Can anyone give me anymore information about Anthony James Wade.
I do know his parents were killed during the Liverpool Blitz in 1940.
Cheers James

Re: Anthony James Wade
It looks like on HMS Gordon he could have been having gunnery training, he seemed to have had a quick recovery from the 8'3'44 to join the Empress of Scotland on the 29.3.44. maybe ear problems after the gunnery coarse.

Re: Anthony James Wade
Hi James
All that info you give there is it do you know from his CR10 or from other Cards!?
Just asking!
Here is a Link for the one Ship Debrett. Just for info sake .
Harland and Wolff - Shipbuilding and Engineering Works (theyard.info)
Link to his Seamans Pouch here, but as there is most of the info already posted, except for a Mug Shot of him and possibly his actual copy of his ID Card may be included in this Pouch!
Futher info may also be held in his CRS10
