Failed to ask before but was he Merchant Navy?? As Gunnery Cup could also be Army or possibly Air Force , as well as Royal Navy!

I have looked at the 181 Lists on that Surname help at the National Archives for Merchant Navy but that Birth Date does not come up at all>>??
