John next time you are on the Emerald Isle, visit Downpatrick, Saint Patricks visitor centre were you can be ripped off on curios on all things concerning Saint Patrick. anything of that nature you have to be really careful with, as not only does it have a sacred and divine historic value it is priceless , in that it is a link to the venerable saint patrick.
so if that shepards crook is really genuine you will find in the top most part of the crook a small carving, showing that the real st patrick was born in ravenglass cumbria and therefore a naturalised briton.
if that not there then you have been had over by those micks in ballyweeffedyou.
