Lost original discharge book
I lost my original discharge book. Got a replacement ,but most of my details, ships and discharges were on original.
Got my replacement book, and found my pouch details ok online. Is there anyway I can find out my original discharge number, and get a list of ships I sailed on?
Discharge no R808319 is replacement no.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Last ship I was on was MV Ruysdael Bolton Steamship Co was supposed to be 6 weeks round Europe, and home.Got chartered to Clan line finished up all round middle East and India.Great times, and plenty of laughs

Re: Lost original discharge book
Your CRS10 should be the original Documents with all your Sea time and info with it , this should also show your Original Discharge Number
cHEERS
Your CRS10 Should be found in this Series

Re: Lost original discharge book
Your discharge book number never alters, I have 3 books starting in 1967 up to 2008 and all have the same number. The only changes are size and format. Columns for ability and conduct disappeared in 73? And later books had pages for oil and chemical endorsements, amongst other endorsements.

Re: Lost original discharge book
Hello JD
( Your Quote) Have sent an e mail asking for some more info regarding ships I was on and dates
Please dont hold your breath on any replies as yet from the NA, and also i doubt very much if they will tell you much at all. It will if anything just tell you to apply for your CRS10 and that i have given you the Link to. Here it is again
When Link Opened Click on Request Copy
https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...ls/r/C10990525
At present though they are closed for any Payment Research,so will have to wait till all back to normal
Cheers
NB When you do apply for CRS10 make sure you quote your Seamans Pouch Ref Number as shown on the NA Site
And any other info you may have like Ships you were on and dates if possible this helps them to find your Docs easier
You already have this

Re: Lost original discharge book
I have my Father's discharge book and his 'pouch' from BT 372 but I was not aware of BT 382. Would the CRS 10 form contain information I don't have already? Thanks, Bruce.

Re: Lost original discharge book
Seamans Pouches only contain basic details at most times.
The CRS10 Docs will hold his full Service details ,so a much better option
Cheers
Supply name and DOB ,Place of Birth I will look up the Link and post fr you
