searching info of Captain Alfred Dyble
New [03-09, 13:48] Rodney Dyble: I am looking for information regarding my father Alfred Dyble who was a Master in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and after. Any help as to whom to contact would be appreciated.

Hi Rodney,
I put your message on a post in here as it would be seen better.
Keep looking in, it is weekend and gets a bit quiet also it is MN Day and a lot of members will be away at the Parades.
But some of our Experts will no doubt get you all the information you need,
Please give as much detail as possible to help them with their search
DoB, and date of passing, also any ships he sailed on, where he was born and /or lived. and so on.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: searching info of Captain Alfred Dyble
As a start, there's a medal listing here: Medal listing of Dyble, Alfred Discharge number: 1026622 Date of Birth: 23... | The National Archives - I am not certain it is the same man (there's another of the same name, born in California) but you will know. If you think it's your father, the record is downloadable for the sum of £3.45.

Re: searching info of Captain Alfred Dyble
I sailed with Capt. Jack Dyble on the "Thomas M" (Metcalf Motor Coasters) in 1970. A lovely man from Yarmouth, would he have been your uncle Rodney ?.
