Merchant Navy

Hello all,
I am willing to pursue Merchant Navy as my career. However, I have a lot of questions since I don't have anyone in my friends/relatives circle doing that. A little help from someone experienced would help me a lot

I am currently in my 3rd Year in Mechanical Engineering(it is a 4 year course) and my aggregate is around 50s now but I am willing to try hard and go near 60 with the one more year I have.

• What course should I do after my Engineering?
• Is it better to do it abroad or do it here itself? (I am from India btw)

I still have a LOT more questions but I don't want to be annoying in my first post itself so I'll wait.

Welcome to the site Anirudh. I hope that you will enjoy your stay and get at least some of the answers you are looking for. Being ex Deck department myself I will leave the answering to one of the lads who has more experience in your intended department. It has all changed so much over the past 20+ years that I would honestly not have a clue where to start.
