New Australia
Does anyone remember this ship. She was on the immigrant run to Oz. in the 50's. I seem to remember that she was a rebuild from a ship that was gutted by fire, and I seem to remember seeing her in that sad state. I can't remember where it was I saw her or what her name was then. Any information ?

In the mid sixties my self and two other A/S were sent down from the GOOLE Pool to join her in Southampton. We took one look at her from the warfe and head back on north with our thumbs
stuck out!!.We made a good choice, she made the UK headlines that trip for all kinds of violence
when,I, think she was in Auckland, people were badly hurt, strecher case's.

Thank you for that Keith, I don't know how you collect all this information, but it's answered my query perfectly.
Cheers
