When the Stockholm slammed into the Andrea Doria's starboard side, the crashing bow (and amidst the crumbling steel) somehow catapulted 14-yr old Linda Morgan from her bed. She was "lifted" from the Doria onto the Stockholm, trapped in the mass of crumpled steel on the Swedish ship and miraculously survived. She was promptly dubbed "the miracle child" by the press -- and by the crew members aboard the Stockholm that found her. Her 8-yr old sister, sleeping in the same cabin but on the inside bed, was sadly crushed to death.
