Re: Fires
Lou, I believe some of these fires are deliberately lit. It really shows the intellect of some of the community if they are. If anyone is convicted of such an act the penaltys are too lenient, a public flogging before incarceration would be fully justified, and not a smack on the wrist. Trust you had a good new Year as know you would have made the best of it. All the best. John S

Re: Fires
John, I agree why cant these idiots be given some real hard jail time. This is nothing less than a total disregard for humanity. We have at the moment on every news bulletin I have watched today a bad batch of ecstasy tablets doing the rounds down south mostly in the Surrey area, These young men and woman taking it are dropping like flies the police have announced an amnesty if anyone hands them into there local police station or pharmacy. The answer is simple don't take drugs. Terry.

Re: Fires
Hi Lou.
Yes there are some bad fires in South Aus, being grass fires they are very fast across the ground, temps of up to 41 degrees isn't helping. We went from a pleasant 21 up to 31 in one day, but thankfully we have had thunder storms to wet it down a little.
Terry,
It's the same here mate at the concerts for the New Year police picked up 31 people with all kinds of drugs, not for themselves but for sale, people especially young girls are taking these things thinking it gives them more fun, but end up in hospital.
You both have healthy 2015.
Cheers Des

Re: Fires
Have myself been watching the fires you are having in South Australia and Victoria and feel
for the people who so far have lost their homes, all those memories including photo's been
destroyed, and can't be replaced, been pouring of rain most of the day here, pity I can't send
you some to dampen it down a bit. Fred.

Re: Fires
Also there are the animals to think of. The Koala always climbs up the trees when the fires come. and that is the worst place for them as the flames flare across the tree tops first.
