Gardens how lovely!
Hi Lou
Yes indeed i too have read about that, and not to put a mocker on anything one of my Uncles just recently got that from working in his garden and we sadly lost him!
I think however that like you i too work in the Garden growing my little Vege Patches with several types of Veges, but must admit to always wearing Gloves of some sort when handling any Potting mixes or soil that is not natural (that is what is in the ground already)
Here in Aus where we live there has also just of late been another warning due to the high Humidity here, that we should be wary of Funnel Web Spiders now coming out after all the Rain we have had recently!
There have been a few cases of Bites, and 2 people have allready died of this!
This is a rare thing here where we live, but seems this Year the Humidity is much higher than normal!
Oh well just have to soldier on,as you say we cant stop life going on ! How awful if one just had to sit inside all day ,then we would become the Vege! LOL!
Cheers
PS I have just recently bought a half Wine Barrel filled it with some good Soil and planted my Tomatoes threin!
Must say that they are doing very well ,must like the Wine Aroma on the Barrel sides haha!
I had better watch out when i start to eat them !
Cheers

neville
I remember my old Dad and his 20 ft home built greenhouse , he used to grow tomatoes ,cresanthes, and had a grape vine init about 40 feet long up and back along the greenhouse . every year he used to go to the local slaughter house and buy a five gallon drum of animal blood ,and mix it in with the soil, he said it was the best fertilizer . the tomatoes did come out very red .true story .

HELLO LOU, I allways thought New Zealand did not have any poisonous insects, or reptiles, thought only Australia had them, ? ? ? regards, Tony, W.

Bad Back
That was my excuse as well Brian. She must have got wise to that as she now complains about the same thing. So we called in the S.O.S. serve our seniors. Kept out of the way when two blokes came to do some weeding, they looked older than me, they come once a month now so I keep out of the their way in case they think I'm a weed not to be doing myself. Funny that John. My wife used to employ a gardener when I was working. That stopped when I found out she was paying him more an hour than I was earning!!!
