Needless to say, I’m stumped! I wondered if maybe May was an illegitimate child and they didn’t want it shown on the birth certificate. But then as I said before, Joseph died when May was about 12/13. I assumed he lived at home with them but this is only speculation.
Thanks Marian. Quick question, what does FMP mean?
That is short for a site called Find My Past which i also use

Even darkening the Cert it still is hard to read?? Can you perhaps post what is actually on that ??
Cheers

Cheers, missed that. Keith.
One area that I want to explore is the electoral registers for 48 Warren Street, Liverpool between 1926-1939. I assume these are available yearly but cannot find. And I know that Warren Street was bombed in 1941. My hope being that we’ll see Joseph and Annie living at this address and should determine when they moved on from that house and possibly might see some initials or other people who live at the same address that I can track.
Dont know if this is any to do with them but is from the Electoral Register Liverpool Langworthy Polling Station Station 120 1832-1932 this is actually of 1925

Interesting, other names and initials could help.
Was May an only child ?
