    Default cap

it looks like it could be an older Trinity House cap badge.

    Default Archives Southampton

    Hello Jason
Well i have Today received an Email from the Archives in Southampton concerning the date time frame on this issue!
So it looks as though at least you now have that!
I tink our Quizmaster was very close to the Mark ! Good on you Tony!
Hope this may help clear this query up!
    Cheers

    Dear Vernon,
Thank you for your message and for sending the images of the naval cap. We hold some Kelly’s street directories for Southampton which we checked: John Morgan & Sons Yachting Outfitters are listed at 103 High Street in the directories between 1900 and 1918. A Morgan family appears in Southampton as tailors/outfitters as far back as 1842.

    Best wishes,

    Default RN Cap and Badge

I would say for almost sure now that it as i said a RN Cap Badge, and after that reply from the Archives i concur its not WW2 but as Tony(Quizmaster said before!
But the Badge is definately a RN Cap Badge!

    RE" Quizmaster!

Its almost definitely RN but earlier than ww2. The shape suggests anywhere between 1870 and WW1

I dont think it is a RN cap badge. The crown is MN as I still have mine. as shown in the attached photo. The RN cap badge has the Crown of State. I have my grandfathers RN cap badge from WWI which I will hunt out and post.

    Default Crown!!??

Then the Plot thickens as indeed the Archives which i think may be corect ,or could they be wrong!??
This seems to be going nowhere at this time then!
Just a question as you say about the Crown being MNavy, agreed wholeheartedly on that, but isnt it possible that the RN in those days also had a Crown!??
    Cheers
This is a RNavy Blazer Crown>> So it could well have been on the Cap as well!

This is my Grandfathers Cap, when he served in the RN in WWI. He was a Sub Lt. RNR, hence RNR over the top of the fouled anchor. Regular officer's cap badges showed the whole anchor.
