Looking into the history of Liverpool it was the Welsh who built the city. Bricks, slates etc. came from Wales and the men and women followed. When they arrived in Liverpool they had to report to the Welsh religious ministers who would vet them and arrange jobs with the building companies. An Irishman would only be employed if a Welshman could not be found.
All the wastelands around the docks area's were transformed into row after row of streets of terraced houses and given Welsh names.
Tracing the census records show how many families were crammed into 2 up 2 down houses often with lodgers too, no bathroom or indoor toilet. A hard life for our ancestors especially for the women.
Still as far as I know people still living the same in the NE . There certainly was during my younger years . The first house I bought was 2 up and 2 down and was considered modern. We of course had an indoor toilet. Cost 2,450 pounds . You were only allowed a mortgage where the repayments did not exceed one third of your salary. Cheers JS
Well Des suppose when we get down to it most of us are a mixture of the worlds races even more so in seaports .....my family history shows german mercenaries in the 1500s who settled in the tyne area .......they spread from there to america in the 1600s and one of them a seaman jumped a ship in the shetlands to marry into a viking family in the 1800s ......there is a record of them as a keelman going to sea and harrasing the spanish galleons as they came up the coast.......also one going to the crusades from another branch and having a farm in lincs ......they seem to be fighting with every bugger ......did have a welsh girlfriend in newport once so could have left a english seed in wales .....we have had norskes and scots ...in fact a true mixture in our lot.....its all very interesting....i was sad to find out via marion that my gran was looked after by shields gardians in her childhood after her father chief officer willam watt was lost in panambuco ....now recife ...to yellow fever in the late 1800s .....on the SS EGYPTIAN PRINCE....who knows what we are but i am registered as an englishman .....pleased to say and proud of it ...why man we beat the argies at rugby last week with only 14 brave men for all the game sept about 5 mins ,,,,,im of to see charlie play today ......he was player of the year last year at rotheram.......haaway the the cappys......R683532

Hi Louis, Simply delete then re-enter their details.
If on the other hand you have a huge amount of data on them then if it were me and as a precaution I would copy & paste their info to your email address. Then again delete and re-enter each one separately. Their specific branches will automatically adjust accordingly. Mistakes like this can and do happen when a connection is suggested via Ancestry especially if your kin has a namesake, extra caution should prevail before clicking yes to their hint.
I recall when I first joined Ancestry many moons ago it stated if deleting someone you may not be able to retrieve them which always made me wary. For that reason I did not tackle a whopper of a mistake on mine for a long time. However decided eventually to do so having retained the correct info aside but only because I got myself in a swivel-eyed tizzy doing it manually therefore deleted said rellie and his fourteen off spring then re-entered..it was fine.
Just to be doubly sure I removed one of my sisters a few moments ago.....now she is back where she belongs in her usual position.......very much alive and kicking.:D
My wife and I both have family trees on ancestry. Pretty sure if you pull up a family member there is an edit feature you can use to correct any wrong information.
Both of us have done a ancestry DNA test and found Welsh, Scottish, English genes in addition to Scandinavian , danish and Norwegian genes.
Just go to show what a mixed race bunch we all are.
