All for a pound
We have here in Oz a chain of shops by the name of 'The Reject Shop' originated in NZ and began here many years ago.
It sells a range of goods from cards to potting mix, chocolates to cat food etc.
Two years ago it did a deal with Tesco UK to sell some of their products, a $1 billion deal over some years.
In one yesterday I noticed some chocolates from UK, on the box was the UK price 4 for 1GBP.
At home I still have a few one and two pound coins from my last trip to UK back in July.
Today I went back to the shop, picked up two packets of the 4 for 1 GBP and presented them at the check out along with a two GBP coin.
The lady there refused to accept the coin!!!!
Said it was not Australian so no good!!
Went back and got the packet to show her, she was totally mystified by it all.
I went home with my money and no chocs, not happy Jan!!!!!

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: All for a pound
Remind me of a Quiz Show i watched a few days ago, with a Question of which old Market Stall in UK started off , had a saying "Everything a Penny" and became what is now a thriving large Chain of Stores!
Do you Know?? I do now ! LOL
Will see if this is taken up!

Don’t ask the price—it’s a penny.” Now a quality group and thankfully they do recognise that not every one has got snake hips when you are looking for trousers.

Re: All for a pound
Hi John.
A funny thing, I just came back from the Reject shop, had to buy three Birthday Cards, $2 each, I'm not being cheap here
but it's the only place one can get a decent looking card, maybe people now send emails.

Re: All for a pound
Lots of Folk are using Card sites now Des , like said i find that the Moonpig one is quite good, but also not really cheap at all, unless you choose the Email Vesion, but the actual Hard Copy Cards are as said not real cheap!?? Another that i have used is Send Out Cards site also though not cheap! Better i think to buy a pack of Cards (No not that sort LOL) and post them yourself,
.
Your Idea is a good one mate, think i may look at that.
Cheers

Re: All for a pound
Like Des we find cards in the Reject shop cheap and reasonable quality.
Why pay $8 or $9 when you can get a card just as good for $2 or $3.
