The only cloud on the horizon for me about the change Keith is that some things I hear about on the radio chat shows is that it is more expensive,or will be.I suppose the Gov. will have to ensure they can fund it,then of course the greedy fuel companies (we don't like them,do we,Lol) will up their prices to offset their upgrading of pumps etc.Some say vehicle fuel consumption will increase too with this new E10 blend.This year prices have risen locally by 25p per litre (blaming it on Covid of course).I know it varies locally around the UK but I am now paying £1.39 per litre (or £6.25p per gallon in old money) and I will be watching prices carefully.

I think you are correct Graham, any bloody excuse to fleece us. Another knock on from this E10 petrol of course is the petrol garden machinery, ie mowers , hedge trimmers , etc, as generally they are laying around with infrequent use, E10 can quickly rot all the rubber components. kt

#2 if you are paying £1.39 per litre you are getting ripped off, currently here in N Ireland I am paying £1.27 at GO stations last week and £1.31 at Supermarket stations and N Ireland usually is one of the more expensive areas to buy petrol in the UK.

Well lucky you ! I live in West London and pay,as I said £1.39 at my Tesco supermarket. Talking to a family member in the Midlands she too pays £1.39,so seems to be a national,probably weekly set tariff for Tesco supermarket filling stations here on the English mainland. A friend just a few miles down the road in Twickenham pays £1,51 at a BP service station,so I reckon it's lucky me too.Not that I would drive elsewhere to get it for pennies cheaper.Filling up and then the shopping at the same place after suits me.And of course I would never refuel on a motorway at their prices !

Never ever used E10 not will i ever ! Always on the 98 Octane here with all my Cars, even back home in SA always used High Octane Fuels!

Pay a bit extra i know but it gives a far better Mileage and Performance to my way of Driving anyway!

All comes down to ones Skills i guess Lewis! One can have the best Bike but with no real Skill can not do what someone else would do with a lesser Bike!
Its the Man most times not the Machine, although the better the Man and the Machine Well!!!
Still say E10 not for me ! How many Cars and Bikes actually use E10 on the Race Tracks ?? I dont know!

Triumph Bonneville now thats a Bike! My late Brother had one as well, gee did love it. But the old Matchless 500 Twin was a good one as well, many good times i had on her! Everything Chrome except the Saddle . She wasa Beauty!

We have had E10 here in Oz for more years than I care to remember.
But it comes with a warning, not suitable for all vehicles.
Normally about 2 cents a liter cheaper and is called E 10 as it is 10% ethanol.
If used in the modern day cars it can damage any rubber parts where fuel my be.
It also gives a lower rate of mpg.

Not good news for owners of classic cars, those that actually drive them not keep the cars stored in a garage.

Hopefully of help:

All cars made after 2011 should be fine to fill up with E10, as well as the majority of vehicles made since the late 1990s.

This means it is older cars that could experience issues.

Some rural or very small forecourts will still have normal unleaded E5 even after the changes were introduced today.
