Numbers
As often crops up about Discharge Book Numbers and where it lies in the scheme of things , what about certificate numbers ? my last certificate was gained at the end of 1963 and was issued with the pink slip which I sailed with. The actual certificate was handed to me as being issued on the 4 February 1964. Its number was 96781. 33 years later in Australia I had cause to sail with someone bearing the same certificate but with number 96782, what are the odds on that happening more than once ?. JS
