Re: Ukraine
Doubt China will get involved, too much at stake for them with Taiwan to do that.
But something is going on, price of oil last night down to $108 a barrel from the high of some $130 last week.
Petrol and Diesel dropped by 10 cents a liter overnight at the local BP servo, only one so far.
Speaking with the guy behind the jump and he told me one of the problems with high fuel prices is the retailers margin.
With most BP it is 40 cents per liter, Shell 50 cents and some others as high as 55 cents.
So named peace talks continue and there is talk that the Russian force may not be able to break into the capital.
Russia will default on it's next interest payment which will put it into even worse situation.
The Russian people will be in a very bad way very soon according to one pundit.

Re: Ukraine
All i say is dont under estimate Putin ! He is not only ruthless but also crafty!
China will be helping in some ways not sure as to what as yet but the Cards are on the Table!
But what this will mean is now any ones guess. Possible WW3 looming!
How long will the USA stay out of all this, what will all the other Nations eventually do? All unanswered Questions, and as yet no one really knows!
Its a Cat and Mouse game. Does the Cat eat the Mouse, or does the Mouse get out the House! Me well i just think of the poor Children that may have to one day live in a World so different from what they all know now!
Its all so horrible to even contemplate but its also all becoming such a reality.
We at present may be far way from it all, but just always be aware that anything can happen!
End Of. Stay Safe ALL.

Re: Ukraine
I notice Putin's former Chief of Staff in the Kremlin,Sergei Ivanov stepped down about a week before the current Ukraine situation started. He allegedly ,if you can believe the pravda(truth) that he asked permission from the boss to do so, after serving for so long, that it was for personal change of career reasons. I wonder if he knew of Putin's intentions and 'got out quick' ? The new Co S is one Anton Vaino-I looked that one up.Looking at a picture I think all those Russian staff look like what we would call typically Russian- dark suits,poker/ stern faces with ex-KGB written all over them and bullet or sputnik heads.....
Talking politically- about our own' inner sanctum of the Kremlin' at UK Labour Party HQ,such names as Jeremy Corbin,John MacDonnell and Mick Lynch (RMT Gen.Sec) etc. seem to be keeping shtum about Ukraine....
With Putin, like many an unhinged despot before him (well,I believe it is part of the despot psyche to be unhinged),Putin's intention is not so much to destroy the people, but to lay waste to the country-to obliterate it- reasoning if Russia can't take it over, then nobody,NATO or anyone, can ever want it. The territory must be destroyed entirely and regenerated as part of Russia. Ukraine, the territory and it's nationals will cease to exist in Putin's mindset....

Re: Ukraine
Must have a similar mindset as Hitler was said to have. I remember from earlier years that the British populance were told what previous said which was not really a joke, that he thought apart from the Jews that the Slavic nation’s weren’t much better and whatever gypsys where around all went into the pot. The Aryan Nation’s were his forte and their former exposure went back to biblical times of the likes of the Babylonians and Persians ,now Iran.
Whether true or not will never now know as all came under the heading of propaganda warfare. Whatever Putin’s head or mindset is he is first a very disallusioned person , apart from being a nutcase. But I doubt there will be any backing down on his part . He’s gone too far and he is probably very aware of it. There is no court he will ever accept. He will probably join Mussolini , Benito and him would have made a good duo. JS.
The best that way the world could expect is to hear that he had shot himself. And not question if true or not, as would more than likely be a cover up for one of his own to do it for him. JS .

Re: Ukraine
I see that Boris Johnson has said we made a terrible mistake allowing Putin to annex Crimea , really!!!!, the average guy in the street could have told him that was a mistake, closely followed by allowing him to go into Syria unhindered, and now the big one, will be followed by an even bigger one if left to do as he wishes,.

Re: Ukraine
Ref. The talks now being conducted which the media says shows a little light at the end of the tunnel. You can bet your bottom dollar that written into any agreement as such , will be written there will be no criminal charges levelled at Putin or Russia. JS
