    Default Simple pleasures

Taking time off from the crazy world of politics for a while for life's simple pleasures.

On one side of my garden is a fence completely covered in different types of ivy , I did not plant this , it has evolved by itself over the years. I do not cut it down because it is green all year and it keeps the fence up in heavy winds. Every year blackbirds nest there , there are none of the colourful birds our friends in Oz have just the families of blackbirds , sparrows , four fat pigeons and little birds with brown and yellow feathers. We feed them every morning and have a birdbath , the birds play a game of chicken walking around the edge until the bravest one jumps in then the rest follow.

It is good to chill out and relax occasionally , to take stock of how lucky you are to be living in peace , our problems are nothing compared to others. I am listening to one of my favourite bands of all time , Mammas and Pappas , great lyrics , wonderful voices and harmonies.

    LOVE AND PEACE.

Hi Louis. Those of us that are lucky enough to have a garden of some sort are still in touch with our ancestral roots. It can be a lot of work keeping it up to scratch but sitting out on a nice day makes it all worth while. The wildlife that shares your space is just as interesting at the moment we are watching Blue Tits ( feathered variety ) in a nesting box. They never stop bring food for the young, am knackered just watching. This is the first time in seven years the box has been used I hope to see the young ones leave the nest.

I have a love of the wildlife in my garden as well, i have bought one of these trail cameras, runs on batteries, from Amazon £60, and this really shows what goes on while you are asleep. I have several foxes visit after dark, plus old brock the badger. This week i was putting two fat balls every day into the feeder, which was more than normal, so i fixed the camera on the feeder, sure enough, mice, watched them climb the tree, shimmy down the cord to the feeder. So a quick trip to Morrisons and purchased a plastic mixing bowl, drilled a hole in the middle, and suspended it above the feeder, problem solved. Only problem now is they have transferred their attentions to the wife strawberry bed, oh well, kt

    Hi Vic .
Your lucky I bought a bird feeder hung it on a tree, around 300 major Michell's, Rosella,s, Cockatoos etc destroyed it in one day, I now leave it to the bloke with chickens in his yard, they flock there.
    Cheers Des
